Karl's New Job

A lot has happened lately. Karl and I are currently living with his parents in Fruitland, Idaho and we are loving it! There are so many things to do around the house, not to mention the community. I am learning a lot about living on a farm and I know it takes many hands to complete all the projects that need to get done around here. Well, Karl is loving his job he has here, especially since he has a SALARY, but also because it's close by. He loves being able to travel around with his boss, Alma Olsen. They just got back from Canada last Sunday. They inspected some machinery, and I thought you would like to see how big the equipment was....
They were in Monte Wright, which is near Quebec. The mine itself is about the size of the bottom chunk of Idaho. It mines Iron/Ore.

By the way, Karl is 6' 7 1/2". Can you imagine how big this stuff was???? Crazy!

He is an official inspector of the equipment. He works for Alma, who travels all over the world to weld/fix equipment for mines. Karl will be able to go with him to Canada a couple more times this summer. It was weird for him at first because the water was disgusting and there was no cell service, but he learned a lot.
We'll see where this job takes us down the road....if it doesn't work out we'll call it an internship and then go to graduate school. :)

Cherise, my friend's husband owns a welding inspection company and does quite well! He does travel a lot, which can be hard on his wife and kids, but he loves it and there is a need for it!
